Champagne Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill 12.5%vol 2013

Pol Roger created this in 1975 in memory of Winston Churchill, who drank their Champagne for most of his adult life and named a racehorse after Odette Pol-Roger. The blend has never been disclosed beyond the fact that it is Pinot Noir-dominant, from old vines, in the style Churchill himself preferred: robust, mature and full-bodied. The 2013 is taut and long, with toasted brioche, quince and a fine chalky spine. Give it time.
