Champagne Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2018 150cl Magnum

Pol Roger only declare a vintage when the chef de cave judges the year deserves it, and the wine is then aged in the deepest cellars in Épernay, which are cold enough to slow everything down and give a finer bead. Equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from grand and premier cru sites. Two thousand and eighteen was a warm, generous year. This is the magnum, which ages more slowly still: white peach, brioche, hazelnut and a fine chalky line. Serve at 10C in a white wine glass, not a flute.
