Gran Cerdo Tempranillo 2024

Gran Cerdo means big pig, and the label is half the point: a juicy, no-oak Tempranillo from Rioja made for drinking young and cold-ish rather than ageing. Two thousand and twenty-four. Ripe red cherry, plum, a little spice and a fresh, juicy finish with soft tannin. Serve slightly cool at 14-15C with pizza, charcuterie, grilled meats or a mild cheese. The Rioja that does not take itself seriously, and is all the better for it midweek.
