Yates’s Original Australian Liqueur 70cl

Yates’s Wine Lodges were a Northern institution from the 1880s onwards, and the drink they were built on was Australian white wine, fortified and served by the glass with lemonade or hot water and sugar. The bottled version keeps that tradition going for people who remember it, and for a good many who only remember being told about it. Sweet, grapey and warming, with honey, dried fruit and a fortified bite. Serve it as it was served: neat, or long with lemonade, or hot in winter.
