Porta Leone Marca Trevigiana IGT Vino Frizzante 10.5%vol 75cl

Made by Le Contesse in the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, about fifty kilometres north of Venice, from Glera grown out on the Treviso plain. Frizzante means lightly sparkling rather than fully fizzy, and the cork is traditionally held down with a piece of string rather than a wire cage. Aromatic on the nose, creamy through the middle with a lemon tang running under it, and a bright, lively finish. At 10.5% it makes a very easy lunchtime bottle. Serve properly cold.
