Champagne Pol Roger Reserve 3ltr

A jeroboam of Pol Roger, three litres and four bottles’ worth, from a house that remains independent and family owned at Épernay and still riddles every bottle by hand. Réserve is the white foil, blended in equal parts from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and held on the lees well beyond the minimum. Large formats age more slowly and pour better across a long table. Apple, brioche, hazelnut and a persistent fine mousse. Churchill drank it by the case. Serve at 10C in proper glasses.
