The Flying Dutchman is a Dutch nomad brewer, which means he brews at other people’s breweries rather than owning one, and the labels are as blunt as the name of this beer suggests. Saison was originally brewed on Belgian farms to keep the workers going through the harvest, and is dry, peppery and highly carbonated by design. This one is pushed further towards sourness. Lemon, green apple, pepper, farmyard funk and a bracingly dry finish at 4.7 percent. Serve cold at 6-8C. Very good with cheese.
