Drouet Pineau Des Charentes ROUGE 17.5%vol 70cl

Pineau des Charentes is made by adding young cognac to unfermented grape juice, which stops fermentation before it starts and leaves the sweetness of the fruit intact, then ageing the result in oak. Legend has it a Charentais grower invented it by accident in the sixteenth century by filling the wrong barrel. Drouet are a family estate in Grande Champagne. The rouge is made from red grapes: red berries, cherry, walnut and warm spice. Serve properly chilled at 8C, before dinner or with a fruit tart.
