Asbach Uralt 3 Years Old

Hugo Asbach founded his distillery at Rüdesheim on the Rhine in 1892 and is credited with coining the word Weinbrand, the German term for brandy, when the Treaty of Versailles put an end to calling it cognac. Uralt means ancient. It is distilled from wine and aged in Limousin oak for at least three years, in a soft, rounded German style rather than a fiery one: vanilla, dried fruit, honey and a gentle oak spice. Drink it neat after dinner, in coffee, or in the chocolates the same company makes.
